One Year down - forever to go!! =)

Last week (on the 7th!) was our one year anniversary. Our plan is to go to Oregon at the end of the summer and camp and SURF!!! But to hold us over till then we went to bellingham for the night!! =) And we had an outdoor pool at our hotel, walked to Olive Garden for dinner, and hung out at the beaches and wharf in the sunshine the next day!
...counting down until Oregon!!!!!

On our way... we're cool....

Ready for dinner!

Chillin out, relaxin, actin' all cool....

Our Wedding!

So originally I was hoping to get this done July 7, because thats our anniversary! But time took over and I was in bed before I knew it - trying to squeeze in enough sleep for this crazy camp I will write about later. But here it is - the post about our wedding one year ago.

Phooey!! A year??? How did time fly so fast - Nick and I STILL look at eachother and go "huh? We're married?"
Marriage has taught me lots of things already, I don't think I'll even begin to name them all. We've made it through the first year! It can only go up from here right?! The fun part is once you've learned the quirks about the other person - then getting to put it into daily life and making them happier than ever when you accomplish showing them love in their language! And never having to say goodbye at night... thats still an exciting thing! It used to be an HOUR of torture driving back to Richmond at midnight! (or somewhere around there ;) )
Suiting enough, Nick and I met at TREK camp 10 years ago as LIT's!! So the fact that TREK and our wedding post will be back to back is quite interesting. Every once in a while, the other person will turn and say "Hey remember that little Gloria (Nick) from TREK way back when.... I'm married to her (him) !!!" And then we both go .... "Weeiirrdd".

Anyway, on to the cool stuff. Our wedding pictures. So many people (who don't live around here) have asked to see them and now they finally can! We got married in our friends backyard, and I planned the whole thing in 4 1/2 months, while finishing off my semester, moving to Abbotsford, and buying a condo with Nick. Here is the result of that planning and our love! (Ew.. cheesy!)

(These pictures are all out of order... but I couldn't be bothered to spend more time putting them in order. The pictures are a combination of Chad Doerksen Photography, and Kestrel Bailey Photography)

Kes took one of my favorite pictures of Arno and I and made a new memory out of it. I'm so grateful for her creativity!

Getting all readied up!

Quick Cereal munch before the ceremony!!

My mini-man's (Noah) first look!

My brother Conroy.

Nick's first look

Earings: My little piece of Arno and Australia

My bridesmaids are the best!

Don't mess with these gals

LOVE HER!

It was the chubby-bunny kiss with marshmallows.

The Spiderman Kiss

Instead of a cake we had cupcakes!

Our MC's (Angie and Jen, Nick's sisters) did a fantastic job!!

Nicks grooms men sang "'Nick' in a box". A spoof of an SNL song.

Not sure what was going on here... too tired to be normal....

We had to kiss as long as he hoola hooped!

First Dance

My dad wrote me a song for my wedding for our father daughter dance.

Surprise!!! Everyone gets a flower!! I think throwing the bouquet is lame. Its awkward when just one girl gets it.

Pure Joy

Nick had to dance to me to get the garter. And I had to send him back at least twice.

So he pulled out the worm. And I couldn't say no to that!

Courtney choreographed a whole dance for us to do! She even got the girls to change into black clothes to be back-ups! We did a medley, and to end it I sang "Ain't No Other Man" to Nick.

My brothers surprised me by getting in on it to with their own dance moves... and back flips.... classic

My little mini-man was our balloon-bearer

It took some convincing with candy, but he did it!!

My brother Carlos led worship.

My brother Conroy married us.

We asked our Family to pray over us.
